Conneaut Lake Park's
Blue Streak Roller Coaster

The Blue Streak was designed and built in 1938 by Edward Vettel. It has been said that parts of the Scenic Railway, which was situated on this site, were used in the construction of the Blue Streak. It's lift hill is 76' 10" with a drop of 69' and the length of its course is 2,900'. It is the only shallow track coaster left in operation and still uses the original braking system. The Blue Streak was the first roller coaster designated a "Classic Coaster" by the American Coaster Enthusiasts. One of the original Ed Vettel trains was restored and put back into service in 2003. The annual Blue Streak Challenge has raised over $15,000 for the maintenance and upkeep of this traditional wood out and back.
