![]() June 13, 2005 Conneaut Lake Institute, Inc. Holds First Annual Membership MeetingConneaut Lake Institute, Inc. hosted its first annual membership meeting on Saturday, June 11, at Fire Station #2 in Conneaut Lake. The primary intent of this meeting was to brief potential members about the Institute and its role in supporting the local community. With the successful completion of various past events, Conneaut Lake Institute assures that upcoming events such as the Vintage Fashion Show, Art Fair on the Boardwalk and the 5th Annual Blue Streak Challenge will be equally successful. Furthermore, the meeting also touched on the number of volunteer hours that stands at over 9,000 since the start of 2004. The meeting also emphasized the amount of funds the Institute has successfully raised since 2003 by means of various fund-raising events and In-Kind donations. With the help and hard work of members, businesses and organizations, the Institute has raised close to $120,000 for Conneaut Lake Park through the Keep the Memories Coming fund drive. Founded in 1999 as a non-profit organization, Conneaut Lake Institute has been very instrumental in promoting various cultural and historical services and events in and around the Conneaut Lake area. Open, informal gatherings, such as these annual membership meetings, will hopefully increase the local participation as well as make the public aware of the importance of the Institute's role in preserving and enhancing the community. Anyone wishing to expand their knowledge of Conneaut Lake Institute should visit the Institute's website: www.conneautlakeinstitute.org.
